I like the idea of dashboards. Almost all of the knowledge inside a human head entered visually. Text is an awkward two-stage translation of knowledge into the symbols of language, then of those symbols into knowledge by the reader. Error necessarily enters both stages. A visual representation is far more direct.

His point about the narrative 'trick' stuck with me. The PDF bundles archiving and communication, but archiving wants stability while communication wants fit-to-audience. Two different jobs. Do you think untangling those is where the real reform resistance lives?
