I always ensure that an adult - teacher or supervisor - is in the loop on all communications. This is for protection on both sides.
As you are recommending, DYN if this issue been addressed by/in the Society of Teen Scientists, and if so, how?
The 'community' would appear to be a potential predator attractive foraging arena / vulnerability hotspot / recruitment zone.
